Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub of the United States is an actress as well as a comedian and activist. Born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents Her career began as a child actress soon after her move to the United States. She came to prominence for her appearances on AT&T commercials on television as salesperson Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and since the year 2020. Her commercial appearances were not the only thing she appeared in. She also appeared on the Yahoo! Screen science fiction comedy Other Space (2015). Also, she was an actor on the NBC drama This Is Us (2016–2017). Vayntrub was initially selected to voice the character Squirrel Girls in Marvel Rising's unaired pilot for New Warriors in 2018, has voiced the character since. Vayntrub was Jewish and was born in Tashkent in the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. When she was just two she left together with her parents to the U.S. to escape antisemitism. She settled in West Hollywood. She started acting in Mattel Barbie commercials at the age of five due to the financial difficulties of her family. Vayntrub briefly was a student at Beverly Hills High School, however, she quit after her sophomore year, obtained an GED and then went on to earn the Bachelor of Arts in Communication from University of California, San Diego. She was a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade, and studied the art of improv comedy.
