Chieng born 21 November 1985 . The non-primary resource required is a Malaysian
actor and comedian. Chieng is currently a senior correspondent for The Daily
Show on Comedy Central. He also created and stars the sitcom Ronny Chieng
International Student, that debuted on ABC Australia (Australia) in 2017.
Chieng was born in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to an Malaysian Chinese family. From
1989 to 1994, he was living in Manchester in New Hampshire. Chieng performed at
the comedy festival in Melbourne, Australia in 2013 alongside Trevor Noah.
Chieng was invited to audition for The Daily Show's correspondent position two
years later. In July of 2016 Chieng was named one of the 10 Comics to be
watching by Variety In October of that year, Chieng appeared on The Daily Show
to offer his take on Jesse Watters Fox News segment thought to be racist by a
large majority of viewers. Chieng aired an expletive-laden criticism of the
conservative network's segment. Chieng also revisited the city's Chinatown and
Chinatown, where Watters had mocked residents, and conducted interviews more
respectfully with residents in Mandarin as well as Cantonese. The viral video
was featured in Slate and Washington Post. In his youth, Chieng was an Singapore
Sea Scout. While he's been in Australia for a decade, Chieng does not hold
citizenship or permanent residence status in Australia. In 2018, Chieng
admitted that he was unfriendly during the Daily Show and later clarified in an
interview that he was "100 per cent not scared of dogs".
