Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy, born 10 January, 1986, is an English lingerie model and catwalk model. She was second in the final of Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2 in 2006) and she won series 11 in Strictly Come Dancing (2013). Since 2015 she has been Britain’s Next Top Model. Clancy was born in Liverpool and is the second-oldest of four children of Karen (nee Sullivan) and Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. She was born in Woolton in a suburb near Liverpool. She attended St Mary's Catholic Primary School and St Julie's Catholic High. Clancy was a member of the girl group Genie Queen. They were directed by Andy McCluskey at Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was selected as one of the thirteen finalists to the second season of Living TV's Britain’s Next Top Model. She was competing for a 10 week modeling contract. Clancy along with fellow contestant Lianna fowler were able to make it to the final runway show, where they ultimately were crowned the runner-up. Clancy was included on Britain's Next Top Model and has since modelled for several publications and newspapers. Clancy, who modeled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike for Arena magazine's cover in May 2007, was photographed by Clancy. Clancy was chosen to appear in Sports Illustrated magazine in the 2010 edition of the swimsuit. Clancy was highlighted because of her relationship with Peter Crouch and was photographed in the magazine with only body paint to make it appear like she was sporting the England shirt, shot by Yu Tsai. Clancy appeared in a 2010 campaign for Umbro sportswear, modelling an England shirt. She was also photographed with other footballer's wives and girlfriends from countries that been crowned winners of the World Cup. Clancy walked in Giles Deacon ready-to-wear Giles Spring 2011 line. In March 2011, Clancy was featured on Elite Model Management: New York division's website. In July 2013, she appeared in London designer Hasan Hejazi's campaign as part of a fashion editorial written by Absynth Photographic and a fashion film by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also photographed for the August 2011 UK Esquire magazine cover by Solve Sundsbo. Clancy was also featured in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar along with Suki waterhouse and Cara delevingne. In July 2014, Clancy appeared on the cover of British Marie Claire and in March 2015, she was featured in British Elle. Abbey Clancy, along with her daughter Sophia Crouch, collaborated in October of 2019 with Lipsy the London-based fashion company to introduce their AW'19 line. In January 2020, the AW'19 collection was officially launched in the UAE.
